I’ve been a police officer for 22 years and spent 11 years as a SWAT Operator/Team Leader and have competed in several SWAT competitions. I’ve also attended several civilian firearm training courses throughout my career to improve my skills. But it wasn’t until I started training with Marcus that I realized my skills had plateaued several years ago. The training I received from Marcus was unlike any training I’ve received from law enforcement or civilian firearms instructors and my skills have tremendously improved from the plateau they were at.

I took a class with Marcus in October 2018 and it was the most productive 500 rounds and few hours I’ve ever spent shooting. Over the past 2 years, I’ve owned many firearms and have gone to indoor ranges a few times a month, but have never taken a class. With Marcus’ exceptional teaching, I’ve shifted my mindset from that of a collector to a competitor. He was able to quickly diagnose my deficiencies and provide detailed instruction on how to really drive my pistol and engage targets efficiently. Marcus completely changed the way I shoot handguns, for the better! He went over multiple aspects of shooting: the importance grip, trigger pull, stance, aim, and target transitions. I came into class with high expectations, but Marcus blew them out of the water. Since taking his class, I am a way better shot and much more consistent. Definitely recommend taking his classes!

Marcus provides shooters with a phenomenal level of experience. He quickly analyzed my shooting and built a structured training plan based on my strengths and weaknesses. Marcus pointed out and eliminated the inefficiencies in my shooting. I was able to walk away from this training with a true understanding of how my shooting fundamentals can affect performance in high risk (police) or sport environments.
Marcus doesn't preach a "my way or the highway"mentality, but rather teaches students the principles of performance shooting, then gives them different options on how to fulfill those principles.
What sets this class apart from the other training is how rapidly I was able to see massive improvement within mere hours at the range.

When becoming a peace officer I was put through a rigorous training program including over 120 hours of firearms training. After successfully completing academy training, I was put through a two day firearms class, as well as regular qualifications with my department. When I had completed all the above training, I thought that I knew quite a lot about my handgun and how to shoot it well, until I started working with Marcus.
Marcus is a phenomenal coach and has a way of talking to his students that makes them feel comfortable, confident, and capable. While training with him I have learned things I am certain I would never have learned without his instruction. Marcus breaks down various aspects of shooting in such a way that his student can target exactly what they need to work on. Each lesson is unique to the needs of each of the students Marcus is training and he is very patient when he teaches. When you are a peace officer, being familiar with your firearm is paramount. Training with Marcus makes me feel extremely capable with my firearm. He makes an 8 hour day of firearm training fly by. I am thankful to have someone as knowledgeable and with such incredible teaching capabilities to learn from. I would recommend Marcus as a firearms instructor to any level of shooter

My training experience with Marcus was "eye-opening" to say the least. Marcus takes the time to drill down on the principles of higher performance shooting and in doing so, establishes a foundation for all shooters to build on going forward. Patience and persistence play key roles in Marcus' ability to deliver the material and help the student quickly grasp the concepts. Marcus explains the principles of shooting in an insane amount of detail, yet it is really logical and easy to follow. As a result, all our SWAT Team saw instantaneous results and performance gains. With the foundation built, our team can continue to improve on their abilities in their own training with a new understanding and focus. Outstanding training, plain and simple.

If you want to effectively shoot and hit your target with incredible speed and accuracy, you will find Marcus and his combat pistol training amongst the best in the industry. In all my 20 plus years in the Marine Corps and 10 plus years in law enforcement, I have been fortunate to have received combat handgun training from various entities and organizations (USMC, US State Dept, NCIS, Force Recon, Navy SEALs, and LASD SEB). Each were unique and special in their own right.
However, the principles Marcus teaches “from the ground up” completely revamped and increased my shooting platform, weapons handling, tactical maneuvering, and combat marksmanship. Marcus has each of his students master the “brilliance in the basics” to a point where each student in my training group improved tremendously. With Marcus’ training and instruction, not only did he advance my previous limited notions on sight picture and sight alignment in a combat context, but he also proved I was able to at least triple my speed and accuracy. By the end of my 8-hour course, I was able to fire 8 rounds in 1.9 seconds, all within A-zone, from 7 yards (a first and new PR)!!

I attended Marcus’ handgun class with my wife so both of us could get more experience shooting and gain more confidence shooting handguns specifically. Both of those expectations were met and far surpassed. Marcus made my wife and I feel instantly comfortable with the experience. My wife has only shot a handful of times before this class so she was a bit nervous, but within an hour of instruction she had lost all fears and was shooting with ease.
Having shot for most of my life, I came into the class excited to shoot and open to learn. After a walk through of the Marcus' principles of performance shooting, I was instantly stunned with the vast improvement of my groups and shooting speed. The way the principles and fundamentals were presented made them very easy to pick up and remember. We were also sent home with a PDF of those same fundamentals go over and practice in the future. By the end of the class my wife and I had shot countless rounds and had grins from ear to ear.
I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From the relaxed setting of the outdoor range, where we had our own private bay to shoot in, to the comfortable and encouraging teaching from Marcus. I would recommend any level of shooter to take one of his classes.
